Emma Watson: Age and early life

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is a British actress born on April 15, 1990, in Paris to legal practitioners Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson. She has a brother named Alex who was also born in Paris. After her parents divorced when she was 5, she moved back to Oxfordshire in England with her mother and brother.

In England, she was first enrolled at the Dragon School before receiving training at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a part-time theatre school where she studied singing, dancing, and acting. Emma Watson also studied at the Headington School and when she sat for her GSCE exams, she aced her papers with A’s and chose Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island to further her studies. By this time, acting engagement has started encroaching into her studies so she had to defer her course for one or two semesters.

Emma Watson: Career (plus rumors of retirement)

At the age of six, Emma has started nursing the dream of becoming an actress and she matched it up with actions. When casting directors were looking for actors for “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” the film adaptation of British author J. K. Rowling’s best-selling novel, she was invited to appear for an audition through her Oxford theatre teacher. She impressed heavily and was given the role of Hermione Granger.

When the film was released at the box office, it raked in so much money on an opening day and there were a lot of praises heaped on the actress. The other installment of the Harry Potter series followed and the actress continued to deliver her lines flawlessly and even won the Young Artist Award out of five nominations she bagged following her role.

There were more to come from the actress as she started appeared in the film “Ballet Shoes”, an adaptation of the novel of the same title by Noel Streatfeild. Emma Watson went on to voice the character of Princess Pea in the animated film “The Tale of Despereaux”, a children’s comedy that did well at the box office.

In 2020, Watson said that “Having been so public in making films and being so active on social [media] in my activism, I am curious to embrace a role where I work to amplify more voices, to continue to learn from those with different experiences”, she added that her work would include “fewer red carpets and more conference meetings”.

In 2021, various reports surfaced stating that Watson was engaged or retiring. Watson and her representatives refuted these reports as clickbait and cited her relative public absence to continued social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic

Emma Watson is “self-partnered”. The actress coined this phrase in 2019 when revealing her relationship status. Self-partnered means that the actress is single and loving herself and not in a hurry to change this single status.

Emma Watson has a net worth of 80 million dollars. She was paid $3 million upfront before starring in “Beauty and the Beast” with profit participation bringing her total to $15 million. She has not revealed how much she earned during her days as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series.
